
Each chakra is represented by a separate color. Chakras are the energy groups of the body. Similarly, colors are the different wavelengths of light. Therefore the colors of one's chakras are not constant but rather fluid as they change with their feelings, or, the amount of energy produced. The chakras are listed in their base colors below.
When looking at a person's chakras you generally begin at the bottom. Think of it like building a house. You want to build the foundation before adding walls, windows, or doors. If a person's root chakra is out of balance is makes it more difficult to balance the other six chakras.


Chakra 1: Root
The root chakra is situated near the tip of the spine. This chakra is perhaps the most important as it represents the foundation of a person.
When open: One will feel secure in their life. They will be present mentally in most situations.
When over active: These individuals are hesitant to change. They tend to be materialistic and money hungry.
When under active: People often feel insecure or nervous with their lives. They may feel unwanted or unaccepted.

Chakra 2: Sacral (Or Spleen)
This chakra relates to feelings, sexuality, and acceptance of others. It can be found near the center of the pelvis region in the lower abdomen.
When open: Individuals will be vivacious and amorous. They are open and comfortable with their feelings and sexuality
When over active: These people are overly emotional. They get attached to other people too easily and also can be very sexual.
When under active: One may be anti-social as they are not open to others. They may seem shut off as they don't share their feelings with others.

Chakra 3: Solar Plexus (Or Navel)
The navel chakra is located in the stomach area. It is linked to confidence and self worth. This chakra focuses on asserting yourself.
When open: These people are in control of their lives. They are confident and know what they are worth as well as what they want.
When over active: One is cocky, domineering, and quite possibly aggressive and intimidating to others.
When under active: These individuals are feeble, passive, and modest. They do not assert themselves well and usually don't get what they want.

Chakra 4: Heart
The heart chakra is located in the center of the chest, just above where the heart is. This chakra deals with love, inner peace, and joy.
When open: One is warm-hearted, friendly, and understanding of other people. They will find it easy to maintain peaceful and balanced relationships with others.
When over active: These individuals tend to be clingy and overbearing with their love. Others may feel suffocated by them.
When under active: These people are cold, distant, and indifferent. Other people may feel unwanted or useless to them.

Chakra 5: Throat
The throat chakra is located in, you guessed it, the throat region. It dictates communication and self expression.
When open: These individuals find it easy to express themselves and can be very artistic.
When over active: These people are outspoken, domineering, distant, and can be rather bad listeners.
When under active: One is rather soft spoken or a person of very few words. They are most often very shy.

Chakra 6: Third Eye (Or Brow)
The third eye represents visualization and the ability to "see the big picture". Ones intuition, mental clarity and decision making are related to this chakra. It is located between the eyes (forehead).
When open: These people are very intuitive and clear minded. They may find it easy to fantasize.
When over active: One fantasizes too much. In extreme cases this may cause hallucinations.
When under active: These individuals can become confused easily. They are often indecisive yet rigid in thinking.

Chakra 7: Crown
The crown chakra is the upper most chakra and is located at the top of the head. It relates to wisdom, spirituality, beauty, and connecting as one with the world.
When open: One is aware of both themself and the world and is unprejudiced in their thinking.
When over active: These individuals most likely over analyzes situations. They may be too concerned with their spirituality to worry about the physical health.
When under active: These people are not concerned with their spiritual self and are most likely to be stubborn in their thoughts.
